Aloha and Welcome to the Maui Sights and Treasures Blog! Today’s blog post is for anyone looking for a luxurious top of the line Snorkel Tour, possibly upgrading to Scuba Diving. Hula Girl even takes beginner Scuba Divers not just certified divers, yea!
My brother was recently visiting Maui with his wife, mother in law and his younger children. He was staying in Ka’anapali and we were looking for the best of the best in a snorkel boat. I had already enjoyed Hula Girl’s Snorkel Sail before and knew it would be a perfect fit. My brother Titan also wanted to go Scuba Diving, which is available as an upgrade on board. * look how clear the ocean is!
The Hula Girl is what we call a “beach loader”; check in is on famous and gorgeous Ka’anapali Beach in front of Whalers Village Shopping Center.
The Hula Girl is very comfortable with cushions everywhere and even big “bean bag chairs” up front on the Trampolines. There is an upper sky bridge that holds up to 14 guests, again with cushions and tables, where you can sit with the Captain and marvel at both the nautical equipment and those panoramic views!
We were really hungry so we ordered breakfast in the main cabin before going on deck to look for Whales and enjoy the feeling of being out on the Ocean. We had a great day! We even had close encounters with the Humpback Whales several times before we arrived at our snorkel destination.
I had chickened out on scuba diving, so i took pictures instead and went snorkeling for a while. Titan had a great time scuba diving and said the diving and visibility was the best he’s ever seen off Maui. Several people saw the Hawaiian Sea Turtles while snorkeling with all the pretty fish. The water was so blue!
Lunch is prepared fresh to order in the on board galley (kitchen). Once back on board the Hula Girl, the Chef started our lunch order and we all agreed it the best and freshest fish we had had in quite a while! The Chef we were told, use to work at Merriman’s, a very popular and high end restaurant in Kapalua, Maui. A tad heavy on the sauce, but OMG sooo good!
On the return back to Ka’anapali, we were fortunate to see the Spinner Dolphins. Spinner Dolphins are normally very surface active and they love to leap and twist out of the Ocean. They are so fun to watch!
Our Captain and crew put the Sails up for a bit so we could turn the engines off and really sail! Sailing is just so peaceful, especially with a Hawaiian Maitai in hand…
All in all we had a fabulous day, even the small children got snorkel and see Whales! If you are looking for that extra special touch and a luxurious experience, the Hula Girl is an excellent choice for a Maui snorkel tour.
The Hula Girl morning Snorkel and Scuba gets 5 stars from me. I can’t wait to go again, only next time i will do the Intro Scuba dive and not chicken out!
