Cafe O’ Lei one of Maui’s favorite restaurants!
Many Restaurants are still closed on Maui. My favorite Restaurant, Cafe O lei at the Dunes at Maui lanai is now serving take out or dine in. We went last week and they had tables at least 10 feet apart and took reservations. When you arrive you call them, they tell you to come in when they are ready to take you right to your table (no waiting anywhere). The food was excellent and the staff was all wearing masks. Of course, you need a mask when coming and going to your table. It was an excellent experience.
Café O’Lei is an amazing restaurant located in Kihei or at The Dunes at Maui Lanai. If you choose The Kihei Location you can stroll down the beach to watch the sunset and end up at Café O’Lei.
A personal favorite from the dinner menu is the Maui Onion Soup-the chefs have hand-crafted this soup from Maui onions. I have yet to taste another Maui onion dish quite like it. If anything, go for the soup; it’s topped with a fresh pastry baked right on top, you can’t get any better. For your entree, the chef usually prepares a fresh fish, but a constant favorite would be the blackened Mahi Mahi. Resting on white rice and slathered in a cream sauce, this fish dish is one of the best I’ve tasted on the island. This dish is topped off with Maui-made mango salsa.
Beware, this dish has a kick to it, but the buttery cream sauce soothes the heat, creating the perfect combination of flavors. Paired with a refreshing glass of white wine makes for a perfect dinner combo. Don’t wait, make your reservation today for this amazing restaurant-also open for lunch http://www.cafeoleirestaurants.com/
