Aloha from Maui Sights & Treasures and the Maui Snorkel Store…
I recently stayed on Kauai for a week and literally went all the way around the Island twice! I did my best to take photos of every beach. Way too hard as there are just so many!
I searched online while writing this blog to see if anyone had an answer to my question..Does anyone know how many beaches are on Kauai? While i found out that Maui has 81 Beaches, i could not find out how many beaches are on Kauai…
Go Hawaii says there are 50 Miles of sandy beaches on Kauai, i only know that almost everywhere i went there was a beach!
The most famous beaches on Kauai are on the Napali Coast, so I booked a 5.5 hour Napali Coast Catamaran Snorkel Cruise from Port Allen on Friday with my brother Titan and then after he left Kauai, I went on a 4 hour Napali Coast Ocean Rafting Tour from Hanalei by myself, going into the Lava Sea Caves and getting up close and personal to some of the most beautiful beaches and cliffs on the planet! Like wow!
On another gorgeous day as I was checking out of a Poipu Condo and heading up to a Kapa’a Hotel, I had time to enjoy before checking in, so i drove out to 17 Mile Beach close to the end of the road and the beginning of the Napali Coastline, passing Poipu Beach, Salt Pond Beach, Kekaha Beach, the Pier at Lucy Wright Beach and Waimea Beach. I then drove up to Waimea Canyon (another wow!).
Kauai has the longest Beach in Hawaii at 17 miles on the southern-western side of the Island… Molokai’s Papohaku and Maui’s “Makena Big Beach” are 2nd and 3rd, i believe.
It was raining half the time i was on Kauai, however it is a warm rain and the sun came out here and there throughout the day. I think my favorite of the (accessible) Kauai Beaches were Anini Beach, Nawiliwili Beach, Hanalei Bay of course, and I think everyone has to agree that 17 Mile Beach is awesome!
I drove up to Hanalei 3 times, the last time simply to watch the sunset and hopefully get a good photo of Hanalei Pier…
