We are small but active tour agency in love with Hawaii!

Aloha, my name is Elaine Cuaresma, and I am the owner of Maui Sights & Treasures.

I have always been passionate about exciting outdoor tours and adventurous activities. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, so we were lucky to enjoy skiing during the winter months, and hiking in the mountains during the summer months. Our family always had a boat so waterskiing was also a big part of the fun growing up in Lake Tahoe. Activities have always been my passion! It was a wonderful environment to be raised in.

It wasn’t a surprise to me, my family, or friends when I started worked for AAA in the travel department helping members plan their vacations. I loved helping guests plan and map out their vacation adventures! It was always such a rewarding experience helping guests plan all the fun details of their dream vacations. That’s when I first knew that I wanted to build a bright career in the travel industry, sharing my experiences, and helping others customize perfect vacation plans.

When I came to Maui for vacation in 1979, I met a local boy and fell deeply in love with him and the Island of Maui. I never left! Entering the travel industry on Maui felt right and was a perfect fit for me. I soon became a concierge specialist for the Stouffers Hotel in Wailea, reserving all activities ranging from snorkel adventures to helicopter tours for hotel guests. It was so much fun and amazing because I got to try everything I sold. Wow! What a great job! What a wonderful perk to be able to try all the activities Maui has to offer. After my husband and I had our two children, I decided to open up my own travel company, which allowed me to follow my career passion. As an entrepreneur, I had more freedom to spend more time with our growing children, and I felt more motivated than ever to share with clients all the best Hawaii has to offer. I opened up Maui Sights & Treasures in 1992 at Sugar Beach Resort and have been here ever since! As of 01/01/2026, we have moved just online. Since the fires, Maui tourism has dropped. So now it's just Mom and Daughter providing great service, as we have for 40 years.  

Our company's mission is to find the best activity tours for our guests, so they may have the best vacation memories and experiences. With years of local experience, a fabulous growing network, and the opportunity to meet so many people from all around the world, it is more than fulfilling for us to be working with guests and doing what we love.
